Why we cut this one
We build this hard cases with a built-in stand around Lenovo/ASUS/HP. The A488S pattern is ours. the lid folds back into a wedge, which is the whole reason we cut a separate pattern instead of selling one size for everything.
A case is worth its room in the bag for what it stops, and on the Lenovo the part that pays for a knock is the lid. The hinge is the weak point in most hard cases, so ours is reinforced along the full length and the shell stays square when the lid is open. The shell takes the hit instead, so we would rather it be stiff and slightly dull than soft and pretty.
Besides the Lenovo it swallows a brick, two cables and a pass, which is usually the difference between one bag and two.
