Why we cut this one
ASUS, DELL, HP and Lenovo — that is the machine this one was measured against. the handle and the strap are already on it, and the outside stays flat enough to slide into a locker or an overhead bin.
What we care about is the gap between the ASUS, DELL, HP and Lenovo and the wall around it. The strap anchors are riveted through a doubled panel, because that is the seam that tears when a bag is full. A machine that slides half an inch inside its own case is a machine that arrives with a dented lid.
Pack the ASUS, DELL, HP and Lenovo, then a brick, two cables and a pass, and the blue shell still closes flat — the pocket was sized after the machine, not before it.
Blue in 18 inch, and that is the whole difference between this page and its neighbours. It was measured against DELL,Alienware,ASUS TUF/Rog Strix, for HP,Lenovo,MSI,Protective Briefcase with Hard Shell Accessory Pocket,Blue (MC01).
