Why we cut this one
The A1652 pattern is ours. We made this for Apple ipad pro 2017, and for the way that machine actually travels — desk, bag, train table, desk again. the folio and the stylus go in with the slate.
A slate bends before it breaks, so the shell is rigid across the whole face rather than only at the rim. That matters more on the Apple ipad pro than on most machines, because its lid is the widest flat panel you own and the first thing a dropped bag finds.
The front compartment takes a slim charger, a cable roll and a key pouch — enough that a 12.9-inch case stops being a laptop case and starts being the whole kit.
