Why we cut this one
Microsoft Surface Pro 2-in-1 — that is the machine this one was measured against. the folio and the stylus go in with the slate, and the outside stays flat enough to slide into a locker or an overhead bin.
What we care about is the gap between the Microsoft Surface Pro 2-in-1 and the wall around it. A slate bends before it breaks, so the shell is rigid across the whole face rather than only at the rim. A machine that slides half an inch inside its own case is a machine that arrives with a dented lid.
There is a flat pocket for a power bank, earbuds and a spare drive. It sits against the outer wall, so adding a charger does not press anything into the lid of the Microsoft Surface Pro 2-in-1.
