Why we cut this one
We made this for Apple MacBook M5 pro 2026, and for the way that machine actually travels — desk, bag, train table, desk again. the cut follows one machine, not a size bracket.
A case is worth its room in the bag for what it stops, and on the Apple MacBook M5 pro the part that pays for a knock is the lid. The lining is brushed rather than woven rough, so the lid does not pick up a haze of fine scratches over a year. The shell takes the hit instead, so we would rather it be stiff and slightly dull than soft and pretty.
The front compartment takes a phone, its cable and a set of keys — enough that a 16.2-inch case stops being a laptop case and starts being the whole kit.
