Why we cut this one
ASUS/Lenovo/ACER — that is the machine this one was measured against. the cut follows one machine, not a size bracket, and the outside stays flat enough to slide into a locker or an overhead bin.
A case is worth its room in the bag for what it stops, and on the ASUS the part that pays for a knock is the lid. The lining is brushed rather than woven rough, so the lid does not pick up a haze of fine scratches over a year. The shell takes the hit instead, so we would rather it be stiff and slightly dull than soft and pretty.
There is a flat pocket for a charger, a short cable and a mouse. It sits against the outer wall, so adding a charger does not press anything into the lid of the ASUS.
