Why we cut this one
The A485S pattern is ours. We made this for DELL, and for the way that machine actually travels — desk, bag, train table, desk again. the handle and the strap are already on it.
A case is worth its room in the bag for what it stops, and on the DELL the part that pays for a knock is the lid. The strap anchors are riveted through a doubled panel, because that is the seam that tears when a bag is full. The shell takes the hit instead, so we would rather it be stiff and slightly dull than soft and pretty.
There is a flat pocket for a charger, a short cable and a mouse. It sits against the outer wall, so adding a charger does not press anything into the lid of the DELL.
